सबसे पहले, एक उम्मीदवार को 2 पेपरों की परीक्षा देनी होती है, एक CSAT का होता है और दूसरा GS होता है, यहाँ किसी को यह स्पष्ट करना चाहिए कि केवल CSAT पेपर में पासिंग मार्क्स अनिवार्य हैं, GS पेपर में नहीं। GS पेपर के लिए एक मैरिट लिस्ट की आवश्यकता होती है । उम्मीदवारों के प्रदर्शन की ओर से और MAINS परीक्षा के लिए पात्र होने के लिए कम से कम योग्यता सूची में होने के लिए अहर्ता प्राप्त करनी चाहिए।

First of all,an aspirant have to take examination of 2 papers,one is of CSAT and the second one is GS,here one should clear about that passing marks is compulsory in only CSAT paper not in GS paper.GS paper requires a merit list on behalf of aspirants' performance and one should qualify to atleast be in the merit list to be eligible for MAINS examination.
