भारतीय औद्योगिक वित्त निगम (IFCI in hindi) : इसकी स्थापना वर्ष 1948 में (ifci established) की गई थी। आपकी बेहतर जानकारी के लिए बता दे की इसकी स्थापना प्रमुख उद्देश्य - "देश में उद्योगों को मध्यकालीन तथा दीर्घकालीन साख उपलब्ध कराना था"। इस निगम की प्रदत्त पूँजी 5 करोड़ ₹ थी। जिसे बढ़ाकर सन 1962 में 7 करोड़ ₹ कर दी गई थी।
ध्यान रहे की भारत में बहुत समय से इस बात की आवश्यकता प्रतीत की जा रही थी कि बड़े बड़े उद्योगों को आर्थिक सहायता देने के लिए एक अखिल भारतीय संस्था की स्थापना की जाए।
इसलिए आजादी के बाद भारत सरकार ने उद्योग धन्धों को दीर्घकालीन तथा मध्यकालीन आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने के लिए एक औद्योगिक वित्त निगम अधिनियम पास किया जिसके अन्तर्गत ‘भारतीय औद्योगिक वित्त निगम’ की स्थापना की गई थी।
वर्ष 2015 में भारतीय औद्योगिक वित्त निगम की साझा पूंजी में भारत सरकार की हिस्सेदारी से यह कंपनी अधिनियम, 2013 की धारा 2(45) के अंतर्गत एक सरकारी कंपनी बन गई।
भारतीय औद्योगिक वित्त निगम भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक के अंतर्गत नॉन-डिपाजिट एवं नॉन-बैंकिंग फाइनेंस कंपनी (NBFC-ND) के रूप में भी पंजीकृत है।
