स्थलमंडल का क्या अर्थ है ?
लिथोस्फीयर शब्द 1916 में एक अमेरिकी वैज्ञानिक द्वारा गढ़ा गया था।
स्थलमंडल पृथ्वी का ठोस खोल है । इसमें क्रस्ट और मेंटल का ऊपरी हिस्सा होता है । अवधारणा स्वयं दो ग्रीक शब्दों से आई है, जिनमें से पहला का अर्थ है"पत्थर ", और दूसरा-" गेंद"या"गोलाकार"।
